Nanuet and Bardonia produces some outstanding students. Here's an update on the achievements of some of them. Did we miss your student or someone you know? give them a shout out in the comments section.

Sarah Annemarie Brown, a June 2011 Nanuet HS graduate was named to the Dean's list at Syracuse University for both the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 terms.

Hayley Barusek, a early education major from Nanuet, was named to the Dean's List at Chestnut Hill College for the Spring 2012 semester.

Students are named to the Dean's List if they have achieved a G.P.A of 3.6 or higher, and are recognized at Opening Convocation held in the Fall semester.

The spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes the following students:

  • Hyun Jin Park, a Senior in International Business in Management from Nanuet
  • Meaghan Slaybaugh, a Senior in Applied Psychology from Nanuet

The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at Quinnipiac University:

  • Justin Goldsmith of Nanuet
  • Laura Tropiano of Nanuet

To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits, including 12 that have been graded A through C in a semester. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester to be eligible.

The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2012 spring semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,470 students were named to the 2012 spring semester Dean's List, including the following area residents.

  • Kaitlyn Greeley of Bardonia is a sophomore occupational therapy major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies
  • Megan Straut of Nanuet is a freshman nursing major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies

Emily O'Connor, a Senior Nursing major and a resident of Nanuet, has earned the esteemed honor of placement on the Dean's List at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) for the 2012 Spring semester.

To achieve this honor, a student must carry 12 or more credits that semester and have a 3.5 grade point average or above.

The following James Madison University students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester:

  • Sophia Patrikis of Nanuet has earned dean's list honors. Patrikis is majoring in communication sciences and disorders.
  • Robert Harrington of Nanuet has earned dean's list honors. Harrington is majoring in interdisciplinary liberal studies.

Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899.

The following local residents were among 1086 students from Ithaca College who received degrees during the College's commencement ceremony held in May 2012.

  • Alexander Denner, a resident of Nanuet, received a degree from Ithaca College's School of Business with a major in Accounting.
  • Richard Kintzing, a resident of Nanuet, received a degree from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences with a major in Biology.
  • Marlee Rutberg, a resident of Nanuet, received a degree from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences with a major in Environmental Studies.
  • Jake Tenenbaum, a resident of Nanuet, received a degree from Ithaca College's School of Business with a major in Business Administration. He was alsonamed to the Dean's List in Ithaca College's School of Business for the spring 2012 semester.
  • Meghan Ryan, a resident of Nanuet, received a degree from Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance with a major in Health Ed. and Physical Ed.

Katherine Maher of Nanuet was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, at Sacred Heart University's Annual Commencement on May 12th and 13th.

Approximately 1,600 graduates received degrees from Sacred Heart University this year.

The following local resident's are among the 1,423 students who earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2012 semester at SUNY Oneonta. To qualify for the Dean's List, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 semester hours or more.

John Parisi, of Nanuet, a student on Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck and Hackensack, N.J. has been named to the Honor's List for the Spring 2012 Semester.

To qualify for the Honor's List, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Diana Kardashian of Nanuet, graduated from the University of New Haven on May 13, 2012 with a Masters in Forensic Science.

The following local students have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester.

  • Kristin Cappiello, Nanuet, is a member of the Class of 2013 and is majoring in Psychology - Special Education.
  • Christopher Prozora, Nanuet, is a member of the Class of 2013 and is majoring in Biology - Adolescence Education.

Jennifer Fastiggi has been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Spring 2012. Fastiggi is from Nanuet

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

  • Thomas Mascola, a resident of Nanuet received a BA in Communication Media.
  • Joseph Moldow, a resident of Nanuet received a BA in Anthropology.
  • Steven Vali, a resident of Nanuet received a BA in Spanish.

Almost 3,000 undergraduate and 738 graduate students received their degrees at the University of Rhode Island's 126th Commencement exercises on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, 2012.

Marisa Merola of Bardonia, received a BA degree in English and a BA in Secondary Education.

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA ) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
