The Nanuet School Board is comprised of volunteers who spend countless hours working alongside school administrators to come up with the best solutions and ideas for the district’s students. In 1992, Governor Mario Cuomo designated a special week in October as "Board Recognition Week" to commend school board members for their dedication to the children of New York State.

So, on Tuesday evening, the members got a musical presentation, gifts and cake as a thank you from the Nanuet PTAs.

“We are here tonight to pay a special tribute to our Board,” said Andrea Cangelosi, president of the Nanuet PTA Council. “The members of the Nanuet Board of Education continue to work so well together as they strive for improvement and progress in education.  They are the voices of our community, serving the interest of our school children and preparing them for the future.”

School Board President Anne Byrne accepted a plaque from the entire PTA.  The plaque, which will be displayed at the high school, signifies the commitment of all our Board Members and bears their names.
