Nanuet PTSA Seeks Parent Volunteers

The PTSA is currently looking for parents to step up as volunteers for Project Graduation and board positions. Those interested in helping out, contact the PTSA at HSPTSA@yahoo.com

Many school programs are possible through the efforts of parents in the PTA. At Nanuet High School, the PTSA consists of a small handful of dedicated women who have been fundraising for the school and students. However, they're a small group and are looking for help.

"The board is looking for parent volunteers to avoid being disbanded in 2012-13," said Co-President Flo DiModugno. The members must be Nanuet residents, a school district taxpayer with "an invested interest in the school district and the students."

"We're also looking for parents to go with the seniors to Project Graduation," said Co-President Nuria Valdivia. She added that the parents cannot be senior parents and preferably junior parents so they can see what their students will be participating in the following year.

Recently, Orangetown Councilman Tom Morr donated $750 to the PTSA Project Graduation.

"I want to thank Councilman Tom Morr on behalf of the PTSA for his generous donation to Project Graduation, which gives Nanuet Seniors a fun night that's alcohol and drug free," said Valdivia.
