Nanuet residents recently received recognition for academic
achievements and earning degrees.
James W. Simon, a senior majoring in broadcasting and mass communication, has been named to the President's List for the fall 2013 semester at SUNY Oswego. Students, who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale, are named to the President's List.
The following local residents were recognized: Dominican College recognized students for academic achievement at the annual Honors Convocation on November 25. During the ceremony, students who were named to the Dean's List for one or more complete years were awarded a symbol appropriate to academic excellence. These colored tassels signify the sustained quality of their academic work at Dominican. White tassels were awarded for superior achievement for one complete academic year and red tassels for exceptional accomplishment for two complete academic years. The Honors Convocation also included induction of students into Alpha Chi, the national honor society. These students have pledged themselves to both scholarship and service. Rachelle Schneider received a red tassel. John Brezovsky received a white tassel. Dana Gore received a white tassel.
Beloit College's Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester included Sophomore Reid Caplan and Sophomore Kristen McNeill. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or higher and take a minimum of 3 letter-graded units for the term.
Shannon Dorney was named to the Dean's List at The State University of New York at Geneseo for the fall semester 2013. To be on the list, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.
Sean Selinske was named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Selinske, whose major is Music Performance, was among 851 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence in the Fall 2013 semester.
A total of 1569 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours of more.
The following students were named to the Dean's List: Brian Doran, Megan Fitzgerald, Daniel Gilheany, Rohan Jamal, Louis Pratt, Adrian Rodriguez and Stephanie Schulweis.
The fall semester Dean's List at Bryant University included Sarah Schucker, a junior in Marketing, and Thomas Whalen, a junior in Finance.
