Nanuet School Board Honors Member (VIDEO)

The board also accepted the retirement of Cynthia Benvenuto

 

Despite the grim update from Superintendent Mark McNeill on the 2013-14 school budget, Board President Anne Byrne had good news to deliver. Board Vice President Ron Hansen was given a certificate and lapel pin from NYSSBA.

In a letter from the New York State School Board Association addressed to McNeill:

NYSSBA’s program “recognizes extensive time and dedication for school board members who strive to continually expand their governing knowledge and skills. NYSSBA’s recognition program is comprised of four achievement levels,” such as participating in NYSBA development activities.

“One of our board members is at a level three, which is a board mastery award,” said Byrne. “This person has earned 250 points. In order to get 250 points, that’s a lot of time spent learning governing skills.”

Also, the Board of Education accepted the resignation of Cynthia Benvenuto, Senior Clerk Typist, who will be retiring this March.

In a letter she submitted to the district, "It’s been with great pride and joy to call Nanuet my second home ... I’m looking forward to spending more time with my grandchildren."
