Nanuet Schools Pass 2013-14 Calendar

The next school year will start on Monday, Sept. 9 and end on Friday, June 27, 2014

The Nanuet School Board recently approved the 2013-2014 school year calendar. Although teachers will be at the schools for Superintendent's Conference Days on September 3rd and 4th, students will not be entering classrooms until Monday, Sept. 9.  That is because the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, falls on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 5th and 6th. The school year will end on Friday, June 27, 2014.

"We have a very early Labor Day and late Regents," said Board President Anne Byrne. "The Regents, instead of the second and third week in June, they’re now the third and fourth week in June so our calendar is really long next year."

Three full Superintendent's Conference days are built into the calendar along with two half days. Students are set to get three weeks of vacation time during the next school year. The year-end break begins on Monday, Dec. 23 and goes through Wednesday, Jan 1.

The 2014 winter break will begin on Monday, Feb. 17 and end on Friday, Feb. 21 with the spring break running from Monday, April 14 through Tuesday, April 22. The calendar includes 183 student instructional days.  New York State requires 180 days of student instruction.
