Parents of Highview Elementary students lined their kids up for a quick photo right before the bus picked them up.
“They’re excited about going back to school,” said Maureen Ierace.

“Yeah, but not so happy for the homework,” added another mother, Teresa Mellia with a laugh.
Mom Elisa Marsico said that despite their heavy backpacks, their kids are looking forward to seeing their friends and meeting their teachers.

It was the same tune for the Miller Elementary students.
“I’m ready for school. I’m going to first grade,” said Ryan Sung.
“The only thing I want is gym,” said 2nd grader Brendan O’Sullivan, adding that he doesn’t miss summer.
For Kindergartener Kassidy Hudak, it wasn’t friends or teachers she was most excited for. It was the “bus ride.”
