The threat was apparently found after school was dismissed for the day. He would not disclose where the bathroom was located or if female or male students or staff members used it.  Sgt. Fay said numerous concerned parents had contacted the police department.

This is the text of the email sent to Nanuet School District parents by Superintendent Mark McNeill on Wednesday.

Dear Parents:

A handwritten threat was found on a bathroom wall in the High School this afternoon.  The matter has been referred to the Clarkstown Police Department and an investigation is ongoing.  A check of the building has found nothing suspicious.  Students may see additional police presence in the area in an abundance of caution.  The District takes all threats seriously and considers this a punishable offense.

Mark S. McNeill

Superintendent of Schools
