School And Library Board Incumbents Face Challengers

Petitions filed Monday by challengers seeking Nanuet school board and library board seats held by incumbents

 

 

Nanuet School Board incumbents Karen Franchino and Ron Hansen and Nanuet Library Trustee Paul Corriel will be facing challengers after all. Ahead of Monday's 5 p.m. deadline, Brian Booth filed a petition to run for the library board and Scott Walters submitted his petition seeking a seat on the school board.

Franchino is completing her eighth, three-year term on the school board and Hansen, currently the board vice president, is seeking his fourth full three-year term. This is Walters' seventh run for the school board and Booth's first run for the library board.

Library Board of Trustees Vice President Corriel is running for his fourth, five-year term.

On Tuesday, May 21, Nanuet school district residents will vote on the trustee candidates and budgets for both the library and school district.

The school board scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. to vote on the BOCES 2013-2014 total budget of $89,809,296 and elect BOCES board members.
