Practice makes perfect. Jeremy and his team under the leadership of Head Coach Paul Villanueva, practice five days a week.

"Practices are tough, we start lifting then go out on the field and everyone practices hard. We do a lot of conditioning. Practice can last up to four hours," said Jeremy Sosa.

With a grueling practice schedule, juggling school work and football isn't always easy. It takes discipline, focus and hard work.

"At times it is difficult but I just try to work hard to make sure that I don't slack in either, I continue to work hard in practice and get my school work done," said Sosa.

As a Junior, his hard work paid off. He was named Defensive Player of the Year, All-County, All-Section and All-League. He basically won almost all of the awards a student-athlete can achieve in a season.

As the 2011 season kicks off he is looking forward to playing his final year, but there is one game in particular he can't wait for.

"I am looking forward to my homecoming game, October 9, against the reigning State Champions, Bronxville. As a senior I want to win that game, especially, in front of the home crowd and all of the Albertus fans," said Sosa.

Jeremy is an all-around talented athlete. He plays basketball and baseball as well and he is in the snowboarding club.  For now his focus is on football.  He will be applying to colleges this year and he hopes to play sports in college as well.
