2 Nanuet Boys Return as Runner Ups in 10 U Willie Mays World Series

Their Manager, Eric Crespo of Paramus, was voted outstanding coach of the World Series

Three boys from Rockland came very close to victory. Their team, the NJ RocZ Gold, were runners up in the 2011 American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) 10 U Willie Mays World Series in Puerto Rico this week. From Nanuet, there was CJ Di Benedetto and Adian Gallagher. Sam Bello is from Blauvelt.

"AABC is one of the most prestigious travel baseball leagues in the United States. It contains the most elite level of play following all the rules of Major Leagues (MLB) including leading and stealing," according to a press release.

After beating the Professional Baseball Institute (BPI) of NJ for the state championship, they won the North Atlantic Regional’s by defeating the nationally known Brooklyn Bonnies. The RocZ Gold Team finished with an over all record of 60 wins to just eight losses with an outstanding record of 30-2 in tournament play.
