Boulders Shut Out By Rox

2-0 game lasts less than two hours.

BROCKTON, Mass. - The Rockland Boulders were shutout, 2-0, by the Brockton Rox on Friday night in Can-Am League action.

The game only took one hour and 48 minutes, which ties the league record for the fastest nine-inning game.

Brockton’s starter Freddy Flores threw the complete game shutout only allowing three hits in the contest.

Boulders’ left starter Ryan Knippschild matched Flores throwing the full eight innings for Rockland however allowed the two runs, which proved to be the difference.

The Rox scored the pair of runs in the bottom of the second.  Chris Grossman doubled home Trey Hernandez, which was then followed by an RBI single from Dan Barbero.

Rockland was quiet offensively tonight, only leaving four runners on the base and getting one extra base hit.

The Boulders (7-11, 26-38) send right-hander Will Hassett to the hill for game three of the four game series today at 7:05 p.m. at Campanelli Stadium.
