Pearl River pitcher Brendan Ryan picked up eight strikeouts in the win and junior left fielder John Doherty hit a three run home run.

Game: Nyack vs. Nanuet

Score: Nyack Won 11-7

Highlights: Ryan Howe went 2-4 with three runs and three RBI for Nyack in the win. Nick O’Connor went 3-5 with two runs in the loss.

 

Sport: Girls Lacrosse

Game: Suffern vs. Nanuet

Score: Suffern Won 15-0

Highlights: Baley Parott led Suffern with two goals and an assist in the win. Allison Pedro made 12 saves in the loss.

Game: Pearl River vs. Albertus Magnus

Highlights: Sam Alicandri went 2-4 from the lead off spot with three runs and Nicole Leote had a three run inside the park home run in the first inning for Pear River. Brianna Martinez and Christine Kennedy scored for Albertus Magnus in the loss.

NYSSWA Announces Girls All-State Team:

The NYSSWA announced the All-State Teams for girls basketball earlier in the week. Each class has several teams, a Player of the Year and a Coach of the Year.

Class AA’s Player of the Year Breanna Steweart of Cicero-North Syracuse narrowly beat out Ossining’s junior Saniya Chong for the top award.

Pearl River’s took home the Player of the Year award in Class A and Irvington’s Lexi Martins was named the top player in Class B. Irvington Head Coach Gina Maher was also named the Coach of the Year.

Class C’s Player of the Year went to Greenwich’s Dani DeGregory and McKenzie Bezon of Elba won the award in Class D.
