Nanuet’s girl’s basketball season will begin tomorrow as the Golden Knights welcome North Rockland in at 4 p.m.

Albertus Magnus basketball will have a home and home with Ramapo on Tuesday. The boys will be at Ramapo and the girls will be at Albertus Magnus. Both games begin at 5:30 p.m.

Two big wrestling tournaments took place over the weekend in Westchester as Rye hosted an eight team meet and Port Chester hosted 12 teams at SUNY Purchase for the 36th annual Tony Carlucci Tournament. Cancer affects everyone on a daily basis and Jimmy V’s ESPY speech still rings in my ears. Years ago ESPN set up the Jimmy V foundation to help fight this disease, and every year at this time the family of networks asks for donations and sets up a week full of survival stories in the sports world.
