Warriors honored

Felix Horn of Halle, Germany, a sophomore midfielder at Nyack College, was named first-team to the National Christian College Athletic Association all-American men’s soccer team.

Two other Warriors were honored by the NCCAA: Adrian Ibanez, a senior goalkeeper from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was selected to the second team, and senior defender Martin Narvaez of Sydney, Australia, earned honorable-mention recognition.

Ibanez was named to the all-American squad first team in 2010; Horn and Narvaez were honored for the first time.

Coach Keith Davie, whose Warriors went 13-6-2 in the fall, said: “It is a great accomplishment for these guys. It was easy for people to spot the year Felix and Adrian had, but I am very excited for Martin because left-back is not a stat-laden position and a lot of times goes unrecognized. Martin was an impact player for us and he will be missed upon graduation.”

Nyack College ended its season in the NCAA East Regional, losing to CW Post, 3-1.

Horn will be honored at the NCCAA convention in Kansas City, MO, on Jan. 14.
