Daily Sports Digest: Playoffs Start Tonight!

Both the Nanuet and Albertus Magnus athletic teams had yesterday off, but both schools will be looking forward to some playoff action tonight and this weekend.

Nanuet’s volleyball team holds the thirteenth seed and they will look to upset the forth seeded Sailors from Hendrick Hudson High School this afternoon. This will be the first time the two teams will face off this season.

The Golden Knight girl’s soccer team comes into the tournament as the sixth seed and they will have to wait for tonight’s opening round game to determine their opponent. The ninth seeded field hockey squad is playing tomorrow at Harrison High School to face off against the eighth seeded Huskies.

In football Nanuet will host Westlake tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

Albertus Magnus will hit the road today as the Falcon soccer team is the eleventh seed at sixth seeded Briarcliff. Albertus Magnus will also host a first round volleyball matchup on Friday as the fifth seeded Falcons welcome in Woodlands, the twelfth seed.

If teams win they may play again on Saturday, but already the Falcons have two games lined up. The fourteenth seeded Albertus Magnus girl’s soccer team will look for the upset at Croton-Harmon.

The Falcons will also host Pawling in football. With last week’s win at Hastings Albertus Magnus earned the first overall seed in a Bowl Bracket.
