The Orangetown Mighty Midgets Athletic Association is looking for a few more girls to get up to the magic number of 12 players. Open to girls born in 2003, the indoor soccer team is a way for them to hone their soccer skills and it runs for five weeks. Cost is $85 and those interested can register online.
"They need a minumum of 12 and are a few short right now to make this work," said Scott Paness, whose daughter is signed up. "Otherwise it will be canceled. (It's a) great chance to brush up on skills over the winter and keep active while having fun indoors."
This is not a competitive program and the focus is on improving their own skills and playing. Only 12 players are accepted in each session. Girls are scheduled for 7-7:50 p.m. on Mondays. Register soon since the session will begin shortly.
