Pearl River Holiday Track Meet Packs RCC Gym

More than 40 schools from Rockland, Westchester and New Jersey participated in the all-day event

Pearl River High School hosted its 35th annual Holiday Track Festival at Rockland Community College's Eugene Levy Field House Tuesday.

More than 40 teams from around Rockland, Westchester and New Jersey competed in 12 boys events and 13 girls events.

“It’s a long day,” said Pearl River girls coach Dan Doherty. “It feels like I’m more of an administrator than a coach during this one, so I’m always glad when it’s over. But it’s a fun event.”

The day started at around 8:30 a.m. with junior varsity teams competing in various events, with varsity competitors starting their events closer to noon and running until a bit after 5 p.m.

“It’s a good event,” said Clarkstown South coach Ray Kondracki. “It helps keep the rust off. The kids are out of school, they’re out of their normal sleep patterns and eating a lot of cookies. This is a good thing to have during the break. We enjoying coming to it every year.”

Full results for the boys varsity events can be found here.

Full results for the girls varsity events are here.

It appears you've listed the results for the freshman-sophomore division, not the varsity. Can you add the varsity results to the report? Also, there seems to be no identifications for the photos. Can you tell us who was being photographed? Thanks.
