UPDATE: Nanuet Defeats Pearl River 15-13 For Little Brown Jug

Nanuet senior running back Dan Breit rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown to lead the Golden Knights to the victory at home against the Pirates.

Nanuet senior running back Dan Breit knew the stakes going into the Little Brown Jug game at home against Pearl River Saturday.

Pearl River had won the last two meetings.

"We had to get it back or I'd hear about it for the rest of my life," Breit said.

Breit made sure that did not happen, powering for 154 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries as Nanuet defeated Pearl River, 15-13.

"We were able to get a strong push on the line," Nanuet Head Coach Phil Carbone said. "It wasn't just one guy. It was a unit."

Nanuet was able to run the ball all game while taking the run away from Pearl River and pressuring Pirates quarterback Chris Van Houten.

"They beat us on the line of scrimmage, which is unfortunate," Pearl River Head Coach Jeff Michael said.

Nanuet led, 15-0, early in the third quarter after Cody Fitzgerald's one-yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion run by Breit, who accounted for most of the scoring drive with runs of 30 and 35 yards.

Van Houten threw touchdown passes of one yard to Patrick Gannon and nine yards to Shane Ocasal to pull within two with 2:40 remaining in the game. Brendan McKeever recovered the on-side kick for Nanuet and the Golden Knights ran out the clock.

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
