Thirty-Plus Teams Compete At Nanuet Relays [PHOTOS]

The Nanuet Relays brought 33 teams to Nanuet on Saturday.

By the end of the day, Kellenberg Memorial left victorious.

The Uniondale school finished atop both the boys and girls team competition on Saturday. Suffern and Sayville rounded out the top three on the girls side, followed by Clarkstown South, Pearl River and Nanuet.

On the boys side, Clarkstown North finished second, followed by Warwick Valley, South and Pascak Valley to round out the top five. Other Rockland finishes for the boys included Nanuet at 15th, Pearl River at 16th and Nyack at 20th.

In the boys events, Rockland saw first-place finishes from Najee Taylor, as the Clarkstown South junior won both the long jump and the high jump. In the high jump, he was followed by Chris Boddy and Jeremy Job, both from North, Pearl River’s Luqman Issah and South’s Blake Sanders to round out a Rockland-heavy top five.

On the girls side, the most success from a Rockland school came thanks to Suffern, which won three relay events. As for individual events, the only Rocklander to take a first-place finish was Clarkstown North senior Lorraine Santiago, who won the triple jump.
