This Saturday: Nanuet Lacrosse Alumni Weekend, Dale Abeling Scholarship

Come out and support a fellow Nanuet Knight at the Nanuet Lacrosse Alumni Weekend this Saturday. There will be things for people of all ages starting with Varsity games against Pearl River High School and youth lacrosse clinics followed by an Alumni game and post-game BBQ fundraiser.

All events are at Nanuet High School. The youth clinics are open to all Nanuet kids and are free of charge; sticks and balls are provided.

“This is the second Annual Dale Abeling Alumni scholarship day,” said Ed Mooney. “Scholarships are awarded to a (Senior) boy and girl who plays lacrosse.”

There are also Players of Distinction awards given each year, said Mooney, “this year to 1998 All-American Angela Lozado Farkas and Bill kurisko, 1987 Captain.”

Here’s the schedule:

• 10 a.m. sign up for the youth clinic at the stadium football field
• 10 a.m. Girls Varsity game
• Noon Boys varsity game
• Noon Youth lacrosse clinic for girls and boys grades K-3
• 2 p.m. Youth lacrosse clinic for girls andboys grades 4-6 
• 2 p.m. Sign up at the Stadium Field fro the Men’s and Women’s Alumni game
• 2:30 p.m. Men’s and Women’s Alumni game
• Halftime: Two $1,500 Scholarships will be awarded
•  4:30 – 9 p.m. Post-game Barbeque Fundraiser at Elks Club to go toward the scholarship fund. It’s $30 for the BBQ.
