Here's what's going on around town.

Senator Carlucci is hosting a Senior Fair on Thursday, Aug. 30 from noon - 4 p.m. to provide informational services and enhance the lives of Rockland County senior citizens. The event will be at the Eugene Levy Fieldhouse at Rockland Community College, 145 College Road, Suffern.

On Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. the NYSC of Nanuet is inviting the public to be a VIP guest for the day. Try out the strength & cardio equipment, challenging group exercise classes & exclusive fitness demos

The public is invited to the New City Chamber of Commerce 2012 Street Fair and Carnival to join a “fun in the sun” day along South Main Street. 

It's on Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in New City

Burrito Eating Contest

in New City will host its 2nd Annual Labor Day Eating Challenge.  It will feature the defending champion and local legend "The Giant" competing against a pro from Hartford, CT and other contestants. It's at 3 p.m. on Sept 3.
