A Thank You From City Santas (VIDEO)

Watch the video to see how 2011 deliveries of the toys went

City Santas began by a group of Nanuet friends in 1990, who decided to give back to the city streets they grew up on. Today, it has grown into a large group that gives out toys to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House and NY Foundling Hospital.

In 2010, they exceeded 1,600 toys and in 2011, they hit the 2,000 mark in donated toys for children living in challenging conditions. The efforts are completely grassroots by volunteers. Read this for more information.

In response to their success, they wrote a Thank You Letter to all those who donated toys.

Where can we begin to thank all of you for your generosity in such challenging times. Tuesday's exhausting day had about 15 elves escorting Santa himself into the South Bronx. Appx. 1000 toys were sorted, loaded and personally handed to underprivileged children at 3 separate locations. This after a personal visit last week in Paterson NJ by Santa and drop offs to other facilities including the
Ronald McDonald House. We stopped counting after 1600 but we estimated nearly 1800 toys collected from all of you. The children from the New York Foundling Hospital as well as HELP Crotona and Kips Bay were thrilled and maybe for just a day we gave them hope that only Santa can provide.

It may have been a large or small check. A van full of toys or simple toy. Each contribution counts and it would not be the same if it were any different. Remember, there is no corporate sponsorships involved so all of this is a collective effort by all of you.

May your holiday season be healthy, happy and safe.

God bless you and your loved ones and HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
