Candy Bar Bingo: Girl Scouts Raise Funds for Hi-Tor

Everyone left with a prize

The Nanuet Girl Scout troop 40337 hosted a Candy Bar Bingo night for their Bronze award. The troop ran the whole event from signing in girl scouts and calling out bingo numbers to serving refreshments and handing out bingo boards.

They raised funds for the Nanuet community and collected donations for Hi-Tor animal shelter. One donation was a whole bag of cat food. The event was for Daisies through fourth grade juniors.

"It's the first year we're doing this, but this idea (of Candy Bar Bingo) has been done before by other girl scout troops," said Girl Scout Nicole Swoboda. "It's for our bronze award."

Regular bingo's got a candy bar. Then special bingo's, such as four corners and "X" got a white bag of goodies. The one silver bag of prizes was for the winner with a full board. However, everyone left with a small prize.

"We're holding it for Daisies through fourth grade juniors," said Troop Leader Lynn Collins. "They're holding it for their bronze award which helps out Hi-Tor."
