It's open to all girl scouts, their siblings, friends and family this Saturday.

Nanuet Girl Scout Troop 40504 is hosting a bowling fundraiser from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 at .

This is part of their Gold Award Project Fundraiser and they're asking for donations for the St. Aedan's Church food pantry: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, paper towels, napkins, coffee, tea, fruit joice, cereal, soup, rice and tuna fish.

"If you can't make it, but want to contribute, we'd appreciate it if you just bring by a donation for the food pantry," said Marie Maher, leader of troop 40504.

They suggest coming at 1:30 p.m. to get bowling shoes, but bring sneakers in case there's a shortage. It's open to all registered girl scouts, their siblings, friends and family. There are bumpers available so the little ones can come out too.

"This is a wonderful event and fun for all ages! Please come out to support this fundraiser which will help the girls of troop 40504 to raise money for their gold award project, which is the renovation of a building in our local community to establish a food pantry," said Maher.

It's $18 for two games, shoes, snack and a patch for registered girl scouts. There will be door prizes

This is just ridiculous. There are two aspects to our water. Supply and demand. United WaterRead More control our supply and have been instructed by the NY Public Service Commission to increase our supply. Our politicians control our demand. They could enact legislation to restrict demand tomorrow: Introduce water saving measures, restrict growth and introduce incentives and policies to conserve, but do they? No, of course not, they would rather showboat and slam UW, who are doing what the State has mandated. If our local politicians are serious on this issue, propose real legislation and water conservation measure, not just baseless rebuke of UW.
