Donate Items for Nanuet Cub Scout Yard Sale

The yard sale is 1 - 5 p.m. on April 30 at the Nanuet Family Resource Center Gym. There are two donation drop-off times before that

Do some spring cleaning and get rid of the old for a good cause. Cub Scout Pack 233 chartered by the Nanuet Family Resource Center will host their First Annual Yard Sale at the Nanuet Family Resource Center Gym.

They're looking for donations for their yard sale and proceeds from the yard sale will go toward the cub scouts' activities. Donations will be accepted at:

  • 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 29 after their Pack meeting at Miller Elementary near the cafeteria
  • 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Family Recourse Center Gym (150 Convent Road)

The yard sale is 1 - 5 p.m. on April 30 at the FRC's gym, formerly St. Agatha's gym located across from the COPS barn on Convent Road. The gym ensures that the sale will not be affected by rain.

"Most of the Boys in Pack 233 ... have not been on a Pack Overnight. This is due to the fact that the overnights generally cost upwards of $100 per person," said Kathy Whitney, scout leader. "Parental supervision is required (for the overnight trip). Add in siblings and the cost is just too much for a family to handle."

After Whitney attended a Wood Badge trainin last fall, she decided that her last official step in completing her scout leader training would be to host a fundraiser in which all the funds were earmarked toward an overnight event.
