Nanuet Lions Charity Hoops Event: New Location & Seeks Local Players

The Nanuet Lions is planning a comical basketball game for charity

*Correction 09/30: Lion President Barbara Chuck said that the contract with Clarkstown South High School was just changed and the location is going to be at Nanuet High School now.

Come out for a basketball game that's meant to make you laugh and have a good time. The Harlem Ambassadors, similar to the Harlem Globe Trotters, are challenging local members of the community.

With the game on March 29, the Nanuet Lions are smart to make big changes early on. They changed the location from Nanuet High School to Clarkstown South High School because Nanuet only held 300 people while Clarkstown South has a 1,000-person capacity in their gymnasium, said Lion President Barbara Chuck.

The Lions are also looking for local members of the community from the business owners to the school faculty to play against the Harlem Ambassadors on a co-ed team.

There will be free autographing from the Harlem Ambassadors and a dinner after the game will give sponsors a chance for a full meet and greet with the team. It's $250 to sponsor yourself or a player and whoever plays will be wearing the sponsoring company's shirt.

Refreshments served during the game will support VAASA - Varsity Athletes against Substance Abuse.
