Nanuet Lions Present Award To Fellow Member David Carlucci

They met last night for a club meeting

The Nanuet Lions collected 2.5 tons of food this past Sunday at the Stop and Shop in Nanuet. With such a high note of success, they continued their high spirits last night by presenting Clarkstown Town Clerk and fellow Lion member David Carlucci with an award.

They held their monthly Board of Directors meeting last night at the Dog House. The Dog House owners help the club in their charities and are prospective Lions.

Lion President Barbara Chuck presented Carlucci with the President's Award for his recent efforts as a Lion.

"There are very few people who can do Lions work while at work," Chuck said. "While he's been working as a town clerk, he's also been doing Lion work helping out causes such as environmental, vision and hearing. He helped me set up a glasses box at the town hall." She's referring to a donation box for eyeglasses and hearing aids. The Nanuet Lions collect these each month and recycle them for those in need of one.

"The Nanuet Lions have been a tremendous asset to our community. I consider it a great honor to help the Lions achieve their mission in anyway I can," said Carlucci.  "As an elected government official I am consistently thinking of out of the box ideas to make government as efficient and user friendly as possible, in order to improve the quality of life of the people I serve."

Chuck added that Carlucci also mentions the Lions' fundraisers in short blurbs in newsletters, both email and mailed ones.
