Sept 26 Rockland Recovery Rally receives $100 donation

The Rockland Council on Alcoholism and other Drug Dependence (RCADD) received a $100 donation from the Nanuet Lions Club for their Rally for Recovering Sept 26.

Ready for music, food and fun activities for a good cause? The Nanuet Lions Club is and showed their support by deciding last night at a board meeting to donate $100 to the Rockland Council on Alcoholism and other Drug Dependence (RCADD)'s Rally for Recovery.

This 3rd annual Rockland recovery rally is Sunday, September 26 from noon to 4pm at Marydell Faith and Life in Nyack. RCADD is celebrating the national alcohol and drug addition recovery month. The donation will be able to cover the cost of the African dance performance provided by the Freedom Academy.  The person organizing this event is Kathleen Katt and she is excited for the dancers.

"The African dancers are really good. There will be bongos and great music," she said. Katt thanked the Lions for their contribution.

"This is a free event so everything is donated," she said. "The community has really rallied together."

Nanuet Lions Club President Barbara Chuck is also excited that the club is able to help this great cause. She added that they are the only lions club in their district that works with RCADD and hopes other clubs will reach out as well.
