Rockland County Legislature Reorganization

The legislature meets at 7 p.m. for its annual reorganization meeting. The session was originally scheduled for last Thursday and was postponed due to the snowstorm. Legislators will vote on the nomination of Barry Kantrowitz to represent District 5, which was the district of County Executive Ed Day. They will vote on a chair, vice chair and majority and minority leaders. Learn more here.

Clarkstown Reorganization Meeting

Nanuet School Board Meeting

The Nanuet Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. in the high school media center at 103 Church Street. Items originally scheduled for the cancelled December 17, 2013 meeting are on the agenda. Find details here.

The Town of Clarkstownholds its annual reorganization meeting starting at 8 p.m. at town hall. The reorganization was postponed from last Thursday because of the snowstorm. Town officials will be sworn in and Supervisor Alex Gromack will deliver his State of the Town address. More information can be found here.

Women in Transition Divorce Group

The Women in Transition group is for women who are separated, going through a divorce or newly single. The group will work through the “new normal” and focus on creating plans of action to move forward in an empowering, positive and sustainable way. Women of all faiths welcome. A licensed clinical therapist will lead the sessions. The eight-week program at Rockland Jewish Family Service at 450 West Nyack Road in West Nyack from 6 to 7 p.m. costs $200. Childcare will be provided, with a pizza dinner for the kids. Get more details here.

Join The Boy Scouts

Learn about the adventure of being a Boy Scout. Boys ages 11 to 17 are invited to attend a meeting St Anthony's Shrine Basement at 36 West Nyack Road in Nanuet. Find other information here.
