Clarkstown Taxpayers Candidates Meet, Greet And Debate

The candidates for Clarkstown Town Justice and Highway Superintendent will be at the Valley Cottage Library at 110 Route 303. The Meet and Greet with the town justice candidates begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the highway superintendent candidates.

A Taste Of Nanuet

A Taste Of Nanuet featuring a variety of local eateries begins today and runs through Sunday, Oct. 27. Learn more here.

Judy Avrin, founder and chair of Someday Melissa (somedaymelissa.org) will speak about the dangers of eating disorders and the importance of early treatment at a special screening of a documentary about her daughter being presented by Rockland Jewish Family Service (RJFS) and State Senator David Carlucci. The screening begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rockland Community College. Admission is free; a $5 donation to RJFS is suggested. 

Nanuet Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Nanuet Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at 149 Church Street. Read the agenda here

Clarkstown Town Board Workshop

The Clarkstown Town Board workshop will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 10 Maple Ave in New City.

Nanuet Board of Education Meeting

The Nanuet Board of Education will hold a Recognition Reception for the PTA at 7:30 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 8 p.m. and the agenda includes a general overview of the Common Core Standard. 

Wednesday, Oct. 23 

40th Annual College Night

School Counselors of Rockland County are sponsoring the 40th annual College Night at Rockland Community College. School counselors are volunteering at the fair to advise students at their counseling table as well as to provide information on colleges that have programs for students with disabilities.  More than 250 colleges, universities, technical schools, armed forces and other resources such as SAT/ACT prep will be attending. The event in the field house begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

Clarkstown Board of Education Meeting

The Clarkstown Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. at 62 Old Middletown Road in New City. Read more here

Teen “Fright Night” Games

Registration is under way for Fright Night Games at the New City Library at 220 North Main Street. For 7th graders and older, join Laser tag, spooky treats and
a scavenger hunt! Come as you are or dressed as your favorite zombie, ghost,
vampire or werewolf at 5:30 p.m. To register, go to www.newcitylibrary.org and click on “Teens.”
