Attend A Princess Tea Party, Celebrate Storytelling

There are tons of ways to keep busy around New City and Nanuet this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Here are the details for three great events.

Princess Tea Party

Where: Street Community Center, 31 Zukor Road, New City

Description: Hear Ye, Hear Ye All Princesses in kindergarten thru 1st grade come forth to a magnificent tea party, filled with Arts & Crafts, dancing and more. Dress in thy finest Princess Party attire. 18th Annual Rockland County Storytelling Festival

Where: Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library, 10 W. Ramapo Rd., Garnerville, 

When: Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: The festival is a multicultural event celebrating storytelling in the community and featuring storytellers Felix Pitre, Pamela Schembri, and Elise Krakower.  Christopher Agostino will present his Story Faces program during which he illustrates stories with face painting. Lighting Up The Holiday Season 

Where: The Shops At Nanuet, 75 West Route 59, Nanuet

When: Sunday, Nov. 17 beginning at 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: The Shops at Nanuet will usher in the holiday season with a day of family fun activities beginning with holiday costumed characters, face painters, balloon artists and circus acts and interactive stations featuring the Amazing Grace Circus, the oldest year-round youth-circus organization in the greater NY Hudson Valley area.  Harmony on the Hudson will stroll around singing songs in their “barbershop” style. The tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. will feature more than 37,000 twinkling lights on a replica 30-foot tall pine. Musical performances will continue with the Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus, The Temple Dudes and followed by Columbia Records Recording Artist Judith Hill, who appeared in the major motion picture “20 Feet from Stardom” and was a finalist on The Voice.
