Decisions: Visit St. Nick, Shop Without Kids, Attend A Gala Concert

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Nanuet and New City this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Here are the details for three great events.

Drop Then Shop For The Holidays

Where: Kids Kingdom, 121 West Nyack Road, Nanuet

When: Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Cost: $40 per child, each additional sibling $25

Description: Kid's Kingdom will be hosting "Drop Then Shop" for the holidays. Drop your child off and do your shopping. The children will be served pizza and juice and in the dynamic Kingdom and enjoy games, a craft, movie, and other activities. Children from two to seven years old are welcome. Advanced Reservations are required and can be made at 845-624-0936.

St. Nicholas Day Celebration

Where: Rockland Historical Society, 20 Zukor Road, New City

When: Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 10 and starting promptly at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Cost: $5 per adult and child. Reservations required and can be made by calling 1-800-838-3006 or going to: BrownPaperTickets.com/event/509683

Description: Visit the Historical Society of Rockland County and the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House to celebrate St. Nicholas. This traditional program, which began in 1961, is a highlight of the holiday season, and many adults who have enjoyed this event in the past, as children, now bring their own families.  Each child receives a special treat in his/her shoe from St. Nicholas and everyone can visit with St. Nicholas and his horse. Enjoy refreshments and visit the 38th Annual Holiday Exhibition, “Simple Gifts”

Rockland Camerata 35th Anniversary Concert

Where: Clarkstown Reformed Church, 107 Strawtown Road, West Nyack

When: Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. 

Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students 

Description:   The Rockland Camerata under the direction of Matthew Rupcich will present a gala 35th Anniversary Concert, performing music by Vaughan Williams, Monteverdi, Bruckner, Finzi and Bach, and featuring the Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio with chorus, soloists and instrumentalists. The concert will be a musical retrospective of concerts from the group’s 35 years of performances. A reception will follow.
