There are tons of ways to keep busy around New City and Nanuet this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

When: Friday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m.

Cost: Free for active duty military personnel and veterans with proper identification.

Description: The Nam Knights of America Motorcycle Club, Hudson Valley Chapter, will be hosting Military Appreciation night along with the Rockland Boulders. Come on out and enjoy America's favorite past time, while supporting military veterans and active duty soldiers.

Avenue Q, School Edition

Where: Clarkstown South High School, 31 Demarest Mill Road, West Nyack

When: Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m.

Cost: Adult tickets are $15; student tickets cost $12 and Senior Citizens pay $10.  

Description: Hudson Valley Teen Summer Theatre will present Avenue Q, School Edition, which is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q.

Call 911 Chili Cook Off And Music Festival

When: Saturday, Aug 10 at 11 a.m.

Where: Nanuet High School, 103 Church Street, Nanuet

Cost: Free admission. Fundraising activities include tasting kits and aprons for sale, silent auctions and raffles.

Description: Hudson Valley Paramedic Associates invites you to the first annual Dr. Michael S. Lippe Call 911 Chili Cook Off & Music Festival. 30 national chefs will compete in multiple categories to gain points in National Standings. The public will get to taste upwards to 30 different chili dishes. There will be street vendors, kiosk, entertainers, and public safety displays. Bands from around the tri-state region will be performing.
