BET YOU A QUARTER May 22, 2013 at 12:14 am
130DRIVERS X $5/HR X 40HRS X 52WEEKS = $1,622,400 X 5YRS = $6,760,000... Again I hope I am wrong
BET YOU A QUARTER May 21, 2013 at 11:30 pm
I have been saying it for months, how do you beat 2 other companies, one that has run TOR andRead More TZXpress for years and be $6 million lower. It has to be in the labor costs and if you take 130 drivers and lower their hourly pay by about $6/hr that's where the difference is. Why the drivers would take a cut in pay is beyond me, I hope I am wrong.
Charles Clewsow May 21, 2013 at 11:17 pm
"....why would it take 4 months to hire drivers that already exist?" Perhaps the driversRead More will refuse to work for Brega or he has his own drivers?

Until the taxpaying citizens of Clarkstown find the moral fortitude to rid town hall of organizedRead More criminals, their money and their influence, nothing will ever change. It will be business as usual-dirty business that is.
the clowns running the tax defense that the PM is challenging forget a few basics..drive around theRead More PM on route 303 there are two properties that again are overgrown with grass over the 10 inch violation rules of property upkeep..Where are the code enforcers doing their jobs?? the PM will easlity win their tax certori..because even the areas around the place look like extention of the landfills..what is laughable are real state signs trying to promote rundown propertys....I would be embarrassed to have a sign on a overgrown property..and doesnt the town care????afterall you are in a battle to defend property vslues..and seriously no one is doing their job regarding the upkeep laws..seems out to lunch is a 24/7 thing in clowntown....also on parot road and brewery there is a house over grown with very high overgrowth..and ready? there are two houses for sale nearby!!like who will want to purchase anything when the town doesnt maintain its upkeep laws??I guess town employees must drive with very dark glasses because they dont see that well...yoo growmack..tell your code enforcers to get to work...

Thank you Robin for writing an amazing blog for this event. James is on cloud 9, and totallyRead More ecstatic about this event. Please everyone come down, and spread the word because these children need everything we can give them. The simplest little thing like an article about their struggles fills such a void in these amazing children's lives who most of the time feel that they are different and don't fit in. James has rock star status now, and went to bed tonight with a smile from ear to ear, and that means the world to his mom. Thank you again

I happen to have the pleasure of knowing James and his family. You will not meet a moreRead More kind-hearted, generous, dedicated and hard working young man. So many happy memories are all we have now. Sad to hear of the demise of yet another iconic houseRead More in our community. This was much more than another bowling alley. It was a family house that enabled many friendships and extended families to be built. Best wishes and Thanks to the Lesica Family...You have a place in many hearts

My family has a LOT of history at PR Lanes and a lot of memories. I am very sad to see this legacyRead More go, but will always remember the good times growing up with Richie and the rest of the gang around the bowling alley.

I worked there for over 20 Years, through High School and College and even after I got a full timeRead More job. Cathy and Charlie Lesica were the best employer I have ever worked for. It was truly a family enviornment. I wish the Cathy a long and healthy retirement. Also, best of luck to all the Lavecchia Boys who have been there since the beginning. It will be missed.

Mr. Nimick, while I agree in spirit, the problem is not merely getting people out for the general,Read More or even primary elections. It is getting the right nominees at the party conventions. That is the root from where the corruption and in effective politicians grow. In the past, I made efforts to change party politics from within, but was ignored by the rank and file committee members, ,most of whom are government employees or relatives of government employees. All of whom know not to bite the party chair's hand that feeds them.

A ballot option "None of the above" is sorely needed.

Hi, I am a person totally disinterested in the electoral process, can you please expend governmentRead More funds to have someone come to my house and nag me to vote until I do it just to make you go away. I call it the "c'mon mom, leave me alone" method. Frankly, if I care so little about getting registered to vote, imagine how well considered my vote will be.

At the above fundraiser in 2011 for Borelli, Liaison to the Highway Dept., Ballard said he wasRead More appreciative if the FUNDING given him by Borelli (which later enabled Ballard to hire Sparaco). When Borelli was confrontedabout the Sparaco appointment he equivocated (see weasel) essentially saying that the funding for Sparaco was in Ballards budget ( given by Borelli according to Ballard). PROGESSIVE Gromack was also there as was Sparaco, all wining and dining for Daddys little boy.
Charles Clewsow May 22, 2013 at 03:19 am
Borelli currently serves as the Town Board’s liaison for the Civil Service EmployeesRead More Association, the Police Department, Emergency Services, the Highway Department, Department of Environmental Control (specifically recycling, sewers, and drainage), the Receiver of Taxes, and the Sanitation Commission. Thus current Superintendent of Highways Wayne Ballard has worked closely with Borelli for several years, and he came out to the event to show his support for the candidate. “[Borelli] and the rest of the Town Board have made me successful because of the funding that they give me, which makes me have the tools in order to function,” he said. “So I appreciate what he’s done for me in the past, and I hope I can continue working for him.” Also there to show his support was current Town Supervisor Alex Gromack, a Congers Democrat, who has worked alongside Borelli since the latter was elected to the Town Board. “I’m here in support of Frank Borelli because he’s been part of a progressive team in Clarkstown that has been responsive to the needs of our residents,” Gromack said. "We’ve worked very closely together, the entire Town Board, in lowering the cost of government, cutting taxes, and providing great service, and Frank Borelli’s been an important part of that team, and I certainly look forward to continuing a very strong working relationship with him, and I’m here tonight in support of that partnership that we’ve forged together over the last three years, and I look forward to working with him again for the people of Clarkstown.”

Lynn--I agree. After the outside consultants have come and gone with their brow opinions, nothingRead More substantive will change. Nanuet is a good place to live in right now and will be after the outside planners have gone. I have to chuckle though about trying to establish an identity for the hamlet through "entertainment". What are we talking about exactly--watching the excessive number of trains go by or traffic jams on Middletown Road?

Arrogance, even from our police chief Sullivan. He sticks a sharprp stick into the eyes if taxpayersRead More by not allowing a real audit and then charging us $18,000 for a meaningless administrative task that sholud have been accomplished during regular hours. Sullivans Annual Report is still not published for 2012? Taxpayers were victimized by this self-confessed cheating cop who gets off with a huge payday. Taxpayers are victimized further as Gromack and the Town Board refuse to conduct an independent forensic audit. Lastly, taxpayers victimized again as there are apparently a string of 160 burglaries in 2010-2011, with zero information as to how many have been solved. Clarkstown Justice Court has apparently been pressured not to update information on crimes since 2009. Chief Sullivans CPD web site is sadly very sketchy and his own numbers do not add up. Yes . there are plenty of victims, mostly taxpayers.
