Is there a reason why 2 comments complimenting Carl have been removed? Or do we simply have a trollRead More flagging stuff to get them removed?

Lisa: You're welcome. Dave: I did see your original comment before it disappeared. It is veryRead More rewarding when someone finds a personal connection to what I have written.

Glad you saw it Carl , it hit close to home on so many levels. Its a shame that someone is trollingRead More such an uplifting article and removing positive comments. I too grew closer to my father only after I married and had children. But to be honest even though I didn't connect with him as a child, I'm glad I did as an adult. I understand him better now.
Who Has The Best Hand?

The Independence Party is one of the 'worst of the worst' of the minority parties. Phil Reisman whoRead More is an opinion writer in the Journal News described it as the "Votes-R-Us Party. In other words, it’s all about payback - patronage jobs. It isn’t so much a political party as it is a racket, albeit a legal racket". --- The Journal News identified County Legislator, Frank Sparaco, as a major player in this party. He has a $75,000 patronage job under Wayne Ballard working part time. The job was approved by three members of the Clarkstown Town Board running for re-election this year, Gromack, Hausner and Hoehmann. ---- The Journal News stated: "Besides his GOP leadership role, Sparaco has been a key player in the county’s Independence Party. Highway Superintendent Ballard, like Sparaco, is a Republican. But in Clarkstown, that’s of little matter. The Democratic supervisor, Alex Gromack, has various party leaders in his employ, and election after election, he and Ballard have been cross-endorsed and rarely challenged. The Independence Party is also supporting Schoenberger for County Executive over Day which makes one wonder if a patronage deal has been worked out for that cross-endorsement from this "legal racket".

It gets worse and worse as far as the greed in Clarkstown politics. They are greedy to stay inRead More office so they can figure out "legal" ways to pay themselves. our tax money. They all have their hand in the 100+ million dollar tax burden they put on the people of Clarkstown. It's like Gromack and company says "Hey it's all up for the highest bidder. Either we make $ here or you guarantee me another voting line on election day." The truly sad part for us is they have rigged the system to where it is very difficult to vote them out. Even sadder is they are using our tax money to secure themselves re-election.

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend

UW is by far the cheapest utility we have delivering clean water to my family for over 35 years. IRead More can live without cable which costs $160 a month but not without water at about $50 a month. Thank you Mr. Pointing.

Mr. Pointing, I appreciate your clearing this matter up. Too often the Water Company s cast as theRead More Villian by the Press and it is best to nip it in the bud with true facts.

I see your point isnt so much about what they are spending it on, but the process that they followedRead More to get to this point, but are they getting generators for the street lights on main street or the traffic signals? Seems like a project that is way out of control, who has gone to these community centers during storms anyway. All I have ever read about was people charging cell phones at the community centers. Good Job Pat.
