Chris Carey, 49, of Bardonia defeated Chris Martone, 31 for Rockland County Legislature District 9, which encompasses all of Bardonia, parts of Nanuet and New City, and small slivers of Pomona and West Nyack.

Results from elections officials in Rockland show Carey winning with 2,204 votes and Martone with 1,658 votes. In Rockland County, 3,864 voters participated in Tuesday's District 9 County Legislature vote, according to Board of Elections statistics.

Carey has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, a Master of Science degree in Telecom & Computing Management from Polytechnic University (now NYU Poly) and Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Long Island University.
