Observing Martin Luther King Day

Martin Luther King Day is celebrated on Monday, Jan. 20 and schools and many organizations are closed in observance. There are numerous opportunities to honor his legacy over the long weekend. 

On Saturday: Participate in a day of service by helping out at the Rockland Interfaith Breakfast and taking health surveys. Find details about the United Way’s volunteer effort here and Worldwide First Community Responder’s program here

  • Shops At Nanuet from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

TOR and TAPPAN ZEExpress bus services will operate on a normal weekday service. TRIPS paratransit bus service will provide only ADA Service on Monday. Some private bus operators are operating slightly modified schedules because of anticipated lighter ridership. Passengers can check www.rocklandbus.com and with their service provider for any changes.

Clarkstown’s Mini Trans service will run on its regular schedule. Garbage and recycling collection will take place as usual on Monday.
