Nanuet Welcomes Their Class of 2026

From the Nanuet schools:

This week, the George W. Miller School welcomed a fresh crop of kindergartners.  “We’re looking forward to the class of 2026 having a year in which they make lots of friends and learn to love learning”, explained Principal Betsy Smith.

Mrs. Sue Vasquez, a 28 year veteran of the kindergarten classroom, sat with the kids in a circle as each child got a chance to share what they liked best about school so far.  “Friends” and “Lunch Time” were listed as well as a few little voices who piped “YOU!” to Mrs. Vasquez as their response.

Aileen Tynan (pictured) and others beamed as they opened their snacks and read the notes that Mom and Dad packed along with their pretzels.  Aileen’s dad Peter said that the reports of the first day of school were positive when they discussed the first big day during dinnertime.  “Aileen told us that it was fun and she made new friends…sounds like a pretty good day to me”.
