The Spenjians describe CrossFit as more than just a gym. CrossFit’s fitness regime includes Olympic lifting, gymnastics, weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, Kettlebells, rings, and climbing rope is a program that helps prepare athletes for any physical event. Members are physically and mentally challenged.

“Not doing the same fitness routine on a daily or weekly basis keeps members interested in coming back,” explained Naz. "It attracts people who aren't happy with the approach of globo gyms. It doesn't require a certain level of fitness, but if you're afraid of sweating, then CrossFit isn't for you. It only requires commitment. You have to come ready to push yourself every day and it is very addictive.”

CrossFit’s staff of expert trainers will lead members through lifting, sprinting and rowing exercises to achieve a healthier lifestyle. The communal aspect of CrossFit plays a large part in members getting through the Workout of the Day (WOD). CrossFitters compete against one another in 15 to 20 minute high circuit WODs for the best time or to pass personal records.

“The competitive atmosphere helps push members to give it their all,” said Saro. “Very often when members complete the WOD, you will see them motivating other members to finish. “CrossFit is about family, community and most of all energetic workouts.”

In addition to the Nanuet location, there are CrossFit facilities in Nyack and Chestnut Ridge.
