County Clerk Piperato Easily Wins Re-Election

Unofficial results show Paul Piperato easily winning re-election to the Rockland County Clerk’s office.  Piperato, a Democrat, received 41,843 votes to Republican Donna Held’s 19,381.  Piperato received 68.32 percent of the vote compared to Held’s 31.65 percent.

Piperato, who has been county clerk since 2006, said he thought his victory reflected voters’ understanding that he listens to them. While he was out campaigning, he told people not to hesitate to call him, that they should consider him a friend in county government.

Piperato spoke at Casa Mia in Blauvelt where 300 or more members of the Rockland County Democratic Committee gathered to wait for the outcome of Tuesday’s county executive, county clerk and local elections.
