This and other blood drives right now are crucial because the New York Blood Center has reached out to the communities. The recent snow storm caused for the number of lost blood donations to double to over 2,000 and their supply of O-Negative blood is down to just a two-day supply.

Those that can't make it out to that blood drive, go to the Rockland Blood Center in the Nanuet Pavilion: 25 Smith Street, Nanuet next to the Clarkstown Pediatrics and Kohl's Shopping Center. 1-800-933-2566; Hours: Tuesdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m.
