Help Fight Cancer With Your Dog!

You and your dog are invited to join us for the American Cancer Society Bark For Life on April 28 at Bear Mountain for a fun walk that raises funds for cancer research and patient services.

On Sunday, April 28, hundreds of dogs will be cancer fighting canines as they walk and wag with their owners at Bear Mountain in support of the American Cancer Society at the Bark For Life of the Lower Hudson Valley.

Dogs are constant companions who provide unconditional love and support, especially to owners in the dark hours of a cancer diagnosis.  The American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life of the Lower Hudson Valley is a noncompetitive walk around Hessian Lake at Bear Mountain for dogs and their owners to fight back against cancer.  Bark For Life is a way to celebrate our favorite canines, while raising funds for cancer research and patient services.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the Opening Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m.   Pre-registration is available online at www.relayforlife.org/barklowerhudsonvalleyny until April 21 and dogs can be registered at Bear Mountain the day of the event.  At Bark For Life, dogs and their owners can visit with vendors and participate in various dog contests and activities, while enjoying a morning outdoors with the entire family.  Contests include best dog costume, best dog trick, dog/owner look-a-like, and dog musical sit.

Bark For Life is a great opportunity to involve those four legged family members in the fight against cancer.  Everyone is invited to bring their favorite pooch and join the American Cancer Society for a day of tail wagging, dog treats and tricks as we help people get well, stay well, fight back and find cures.

“As a cancer survivor and dog lover, Bark For Life is a wonderful event that allows me to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  My family and our dog, Joni, has been coming to Bark For Life events for years.  It’s always fun to see the dogs interact together and it’s all going to a great cause,” said Sue Yanitelli, Bark For Life participant and volunteer.
