A car fire late Tuesday afternoon briefly closed down a section of Route 59 in Nanuet.
Around 3:45 p.m. the westbound lane of Rt. 59 was closed for about 30 minutes in front of the salon in Nanuet right before College Ave.
The Nanuet Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze.
Nanuet resident Sheila Morahan was at Wonder Nails when the flames broke out. She saw two men jump out of the white Nissan.
The Nanuet Fire Department said the fire was reported at 3:39 p.m., and that no one required medical attention.
"The vehicle just started smoking and caught on fire," officials said. "The doors welded themselves shut because of the heat so we had to break the windows open."
