Tampering With Evidence, Possession Of Forged Documents: Rockland Court Report

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe recently announced grand jury indictments of Orangeburg, Stony Point, Spring Valley, West Haverstraw and Old Tappan, NJ residents.

Darin Williams, 50, of Orangeburg was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of second degree Assault. Zugibe said on July 28 at approximately 9:45 am, the defendant, who is a patient at Rockland Psychiatric Center, allegedly punched the victim, a nurse in the head and face multiple times causing dental damage. The unidentified victim was treated at a local hospital and currently still being treated for her injuries.

Matthew Nelson, 25, of Stony Point was indicted on five counts of Forgery, five counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and five counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing. Zugibe said after the Town of Stony Point Justice Court issued motor vehicle infractions against Nelson, he allegedly filed five false/forged "Statements of Correction for Equipment Defect" forms on three separate dates between September 24 and November 14, 2012 in order to get infraction dismissed.

Delmus Broadnax, 41, of Spring Valley was indicted on charges of Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. On June 20, while in custody for violating an order of protection, Broadnax is accused of dumping an aluminum foil package containing cocaine on the floor of the vehicle that was taking him to the Spring Valley Police Department. When he was at police headquarters, Broadnax allegedly refused to be fingerprinted and processed.

Miguel Resto, 26, of West Haverstraw was indicted on charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Resisting Arrest. Zugibe said on October 31 Resto allegedly had possession of a .357 revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition. He is also accused of flailing his arms to prevent officers from arrested and fleeing on foot while he had the loaded gun.

Steven Diebner, 26, of Old Tappan, NJ was indicted on a charge of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Diebner is accused of being in possession of and selling a stolen Breitling watch worth more than $3,000 on April 25.
