Eat Local, Support Nanuet HS LifeSkills Class

Bella Luna is open from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Wednesday. Stop by or have lunch or dinner delivered. A portion of the sales tomorrow goes to the lifeskills class

One of the events that was postponed by Hurricane Sandy was the Nanuet LifeSkills class fundraiser at Bella Luna Brick Oven Pizza and Restaurant. Originally scheduled for Oct. 30, the new date is Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Teacher Nancy Logan is getting her Life Skills class at Nanuet High School to be community minded during the holiday season. The class selects letters that were sent to People to People from under-privileged Rockland County families and will go shopping to fulfill these holiday wishes.

This is not the first time Logan's done this project with her Life Skills class. This project also makes students learn how to shop on a budget. To raise funds to buy items off the holiday wish lists, the class is hosting a fundraiser on Wednesday.

"A percentage of all sales for the day will come back to us to raise money for our shopping trips for the children we ‘adopt' through People to People," said Logan. Bella Luna is open from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Buy any meal for lunch or dinner. Have it delivered, pick it up or eat in the restaurant. Bella Luna will give the class a percentage of all orders. Bella Luna Owner Rob Krasniqi is a Nanuet HS graduate and is no stranger to giving back to the Nanuet community.
