Highview Playground Golf Outing Seeks Sponsors, Golfers

Here's a good excuse to play golf: The Highview Community Playground. Mark your calendars for this one because it's the last fundraiser before the big build. 

After being torn down late last year, community members gathered to raise funds to rebuild the playground. After several fundraisers—a , and —they're close to reaching their $185,000 goal, but not close enough. 

"This golf outing is our final fundraiser prior to build day," said Don Franchino, Chair of the Fundraising Committee. "This is among the things that are ongoing, such as our grants, donations, and ."

Right now, if you drive by the site of the Highview Playground, you'll see a barometer that shows that 58 percent has been raised for the playground, which is impressive as this is done only through community volunteers. However, there's only about 50 days left before the 5-day Build—Oct. 5 - 9.

"A sucessful golf outing is one of the reasons that we will reach our goal," Franchino said. "We’re relying on sponsors—corporate and local business sponsors—for this playground. Also, donate a raffle prize if you don’t want to be a sponsor and a commemorative journal is being drawn up as well."

100 percent of the proceeds will go toward the Playground Rebuilding project. Here are the basic facts for this Golf Outing:

• Corporate: $1,000
• Lunch: $500
• Dinner: $500
• Golf Cart: $1,000 (Name will be displayed on all golf carts at the event)
• Beverage Cart: $1,000 (Name will be displayed on at least two carts
• Golf Hole Sponsor: $100 (maximum of five on one hole

Player Entry

• Individuals: $150 for early registration
• Individuals: $175 for those registering after Aug. 19
• Dinner Only: $50
