Many New Developments at First Nanuet High School PTSA Meeting

The Nanuet HS PTSA held their first meeting of the school year last night

Parents have always helped out their kids with homework, packing lunches and being their free chauffeurs. There are a group of parents that go above and beyond at Nanuet High school. The PTSA unites parents, students and teachers to bring events and educational programs to the school.

With a lot of events and fundraisers, Co-President Nuria Valdivia hopes to increase the PTSA's membership.

"We need parents," she said. "We're a small board and can't do everything." She added that the PTSA will be at upcoming school functions such as "Meet the Teacher" night to ask more parents to join and help better the school of their students.

  • A fundraising event at Chili's Restaurant in Nanuet where a percentage of the proceeds will go directly to the PTSA.
  • Golden Knights Merchandise will be sold at some of the home games. There is an umbrella, cushion, drawstring bag and blanket as well as packaged deals.
  • Reflections contest for any student that has a special interest in literature, photography, lyrics, music, videos and other creative outlets. The theme this year is "Together We Can."
