Saturday: Comedy Night & Oil Changes for Highview Playground

Get laughing and change that oil in your car for a good cause this Saturday, Sept 24.

It's Super Saturday at Castrol Premium Lube Express at 31 Route 59 in Nyack. 50 percent of all oil changes will be donated to the Highview Playground. They're open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and are located between McDonald's and Route 9W.

"The playground build is just around the corner, but the committees still need your help," said Dave Baker, owner of Castrol Premium Lube Express. "Please come out and get your car serviced or an oil change and make a change in your community."

After getting an oil change, go get ready for a night of laughs with the Nanuet Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Highview Playground.

They are hosting a comedy night that same Saturday at the Nanuet High School auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m. for refreshments and the show's at 8 p.m.

Here's a little about the comedians that night:

Johnny Lampert is considered one of the premier comedians in the country. He is a regular at New York City’s and Los Angeles’ best comedy clubs including Caroline’s on Broadway, The Comic Strip and The Improv and has also made numerous television appearances on MTV Spring Break, A&E’s “Caroline's Comedy Hour”, NBC’s “Friday Night”, HBO “Comedy Showcase” and most recently on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”.

In the casinos, Lampert has appeared at Atlantic City’s Trump Plaza, Trump Castle, The Sands and The Claridge where he has worked with such stars as Dana Carvey, Michael Bolton, Chicago and Chris Rock. Johnny has also headlined the main room at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Casino.

Sherry Davey is the product of a mixed marriage. Her mother is English and her father is not (he’s Hungarian). For years, her family went back and forth between England, Austria and the United States, but her parents made sure she saw American dentists regularly. Living on both sides of the Atlantic and never quite fitting in anywhere helped her develop an acid-tongued, quick-witted approach to life. Sherry was recently named one of the "Top 10 comedians in NYC" by Improper Magazine and has been honored as one of the Hollywood Reporter’s “Magnificent Seven.”

Television appearances include Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” “Premium Blend,” and Fox News Channel’s “The Full Nelson.” Sherry also has her own fashion/comedy web series on Comedy Central’s Mother load entitled “Sidewalk Catwalk.” In New York City, Sherry appears regularly at all the top clubs including The Comic Strip, Stand Up New York, Caroline’s on Broadway and the Duplex Cabaret.
