Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:

Adam is a third grader who enjoys school, baseball and art.

His favorite subjects are math and social studies. He is having fun learning about fractions in Math. In social studies he recently had to do a report on a historically famous person.  Adam chose John Adams, the second president of the United States.

"I chose John Adams because his last name is the same as my first name. I worked on this report with my dad and I really liked it. I learned that he signed the Declaration of Independence. That's pretty awesome," said McCauley.

Baseball is Adam's favorite sport. He plays AAA baseball for Nanuet Little League. Before his games he listens to his iPod which has all his favorite music on it. It gets him all pumped up and ready to play.

"My two favorite songs that I listen to are 'Ballad of Bodacious' from Primus and  'The Trooper' from Iron Maiden."

The music helps him get excited for the game and helps him focus and concentrate. During his last game he got three hits and scored twice.

Adam also enjoys Grip and Rip which is offered through the Nanuet enrichment program. And he ran track last summer with the Nanuet Track and Field Club.

He takes weekly art classes at the Art & Design Studio in Nanuet.  His mother, Amy, acknowledges that he does have a creative talent and these classes allow him to explore and tryout different types of art. The students art projects are displayed at the Nanuet Library from March thru April.

Adam is also a doting brother to his younger sister Abby. He enjoys watching out for her and helping her.

"I like being a big brother. Sometime I will help her with her homework but mostly I like to play with her and watch TV with her."

At nine years old, Adam is enjoying the freedoms that come with being older. Now that the nice weather is here he'll be out riding his bike in his neighborhood as well as practicing baseball.

Keep up the good work Adam, all the hard work is paying off for you.
